After reading his "The Stand" years ago, I used to imagine what would happen if all (or most, anyway) of the people on the planet "went away" for some reason -- in the book due to a rogue disease (a select few were immune for some unknown reason) and all the animals started roaming around wildly, etc. The possibilities were endless if you were of the lucky few, as the fear of being seen and the need to be accepted were gone, as there was (hardly) anyone there to see/accept. In the book I think (it's been a while) there was some guy who wanted to jerk off on home plate of Yankee Stadium, and while reading that line I awoke to the other possibilities that would satisfy a budding zoo... Going to Kentuky and taking over a small stable or some such -- fill in your own personal best-case blanks. No need to hide either, just make love to that pretty mare in heat right there in the paddock.Of course, it all sort of breaks down in the details when you need to get food, or want to chat on the internet, etc. but it works well enough for fun if you don't think too hard... |
