the best dog i was ever w/ was a black lab. he was a big, beautiful beast; very handsome; and black as night. i'd see him roaming the town's streets from time to time, but never did anything more than pet him. that all changed 1 evening when he showed up at my job. i worked in a store. the lab would show up there from time to time because some1 would always give him beef jerkey. well he showed up for his jerk. it was late, the store was gonna b closing in a short while. michelle and i were the only 2 employees working. i told michelle i would tie the lab up in the back of the store and then call his owners, which is what i intended to do. it was the middle of winter. business was slow. i'd had a few beers. and was feeling no pain. i just couldn't help myself. here i find myself alone w/ this beautiful dog. i just had to have him. it turned out that was more than alright with him. he was an enthusiastic participant. a few nites after our first time, i was sitting on my couch at home when i heard something on my back deck. i opened the door to find the black lab standing there on my deck, with that look on his face that i would come to know well over the next 6 or 7 years. he pounced on me and we spent our 1st nite together. that was the beginning of a lot of time we spent together.
